Mountain Pod

A re-design of the classic mountain shelter. The Outdoor Industries Association (OIA) awarded the Mountain Pod Best Accessory 2017

Traditional storm shelters are cramped, claustrophobic spaces. Ok, its hardly the Savoy inside a Mountain Pod, but the goal was to create a space comfortable enough to use for a sandwich and a brew and not just in an emergency. Panoramic windows on each side of the pod give a much wider field of vision meaning your more likely to spot your rescuers in an emergency. It also helps the shelter feel less isolated as it allows everyone inside to see out even if you’ve got your back to one of the windows.

The vented chimney sticking out the top came about as a solution to a couple of problems. Firstly the build up of condensation inside the pods and also where to put the integrated stuff sack. A trekking pole can be positioned in the chimney to hold open the vent and also lift the fabric off everyones head.
